In the fall
I am the rain
Making you wet
Until you open up
And take me in
On Christmas Eve
I am the snow
Admired at first
A glistening
reflection
Of twinkling mirth
In the New Year
An impediment
As you walk on me
Tamping me down
And making me
stronger
As days shorten
And skies turn gray
It shows on your
face
My continued
presence
Has become a problem
Armed with a shovel
You scoop me up
And toss me in a
pile
Along with the
others
Off to the side
From my perch
I can observe you
On Valentine's Day
With the sun shining
I melt for you
