MORNING MOON
There's a morning moon
In the western sky
A soft glowing reminder
Of an exciting story
About last night

The bright blue background
Mixes with comfort
The teasing reminder
That while I still feel you
I can't touch you now

Whether the night made the heat
Or was just where it landed
This much is certain
Our whole was greater
Than the sum of our parts

While the morning may part us
Because life goes on
Separation passes
As we keep spinning
Until our paths cross again

When you're too far to touch
It helps to know
That I'll see you soon
When the western sky
Holds a morning moon
